What it does

Built for the people who manage the money.

01

Pre-trade compliance

Every trade is checked against your investment policy before it is booked — credit limits, counterparty limits, maturity limits and exclusions. Not in a report a month later.

02

Automated reporting

Month-end, committee and compliance reports produced for you, with every figure showing how it was worked out.

03

Multi-asset, multi-currency

Term deposits, bonds, floating rate notes, NCDs and managed funds in one portfolio view, with bonds in other currencies being added now.

04

Maker-checker approvals

No trade or change goes through on one person's say-so. A second person approves it, and every step is recorded.

05

Portfolio analytics

Maturity profile, exposures, yield and how much room you have left under each limit — always up to date.

06

New issues and the secondary market

Access to primary issues and secondary market bonds and FRNs, through a licensed dealing desk.

07

Price discovery on demand

Current valuations for what you hold and what you are shown, so you know straight away whether a price is fair.

08

Ask in plain English

Ask a question and get a straight answer from your own portfolio — no menus, no spreadsheets.

Why SONR

A modern take on ageing platforms.

Most fixed income platforms in this market were built a decade or more ago, for a different web. They ask you to fill in forms, click through screens and read the compliance result after the trade is done. SONR is a new application, built from the ground up in 2026 on a modern cloud stack — so it works the way you do.

Just ask.

You
I've been shown $1mil of a major bank 2030 FRN at DM 60. Is that fair value?
SONR
The latest valuation is DM 63. Your price is 3 basis points below it — an unrealised loss of $990 at the bonds' next valuation. Fair value is usually within a few basis points of the valuation.
You
I have $3mil to invest today. What fits my mandate?
SONR
Of 280 lines screened at $3,000,000, 119 fall outside your investment policy. Here are the 3 that best fit it.
You
what needs attention?
SONR
$4.0m matures Thursday with no reinvestment instruction. One counterparty is at 88% of its cap. Two positions reset on the 30th. The September committee pack hasn't been generated.
You
what rolls off before December, and at what rate?
SONR
$14.2m across six deposits at a weighted average of 4.38%. The earliest is $2.0m on 14 October.

A new start

A new take on fixed interest. From the ground up.

SONR is a new application — designed from a blank page, on a modern stack, around a conversation from the first line of code. It’s portfolio management and investment compliance reimagined.

Its founder, Cameron Rae, has spent more than thirty-five years in Australian fixed income. In 2009 he founded Laminar Capital and built the platform a generation of councils, mutual ADIs and treasuries ran on; Laminar was acquired by Perpetual in 2021. SONR is what you build with the opportunity of a blank page — drawing on thirty-five years of knowledge and experience.

Why SONR? The name comes from sonar — sending a signal into murky water and reading what comes back. Fixed income can be a hard market to see into. SONR is how you see into it: you ask, it tells you.
